Washington State Employment Test-Taking Policy and Procedure*

The job announcement says what the examination procedure will be. If the test is written or oral, the applicant will be sent a notice of where and when to take the test.

When you go and take the test, take your scheduling notice and some identification with your name and picture on it. Pencils and scratch paper will be provided.

The test is confidential, so you may not remove or copy any test materials or papers used during the test. You may not give anyone test questions or answers. Department of Personnel can disqualify or remove from the register any candidate who has directly or indirectly received test information that he or she was not entitled to receive.

A variety of accommodations can be made based on individual disabilities and circumstances. It is best to arrange for these in advance. For more information or to make special arrangements for testing, contact the Affirmative Action Office in Olympia, 360-753-3758.
