The Qualification Card

Similar to a résumé, the qualification card is a brief outline of skills, abilities, and experience that help to promote the job seeker. However, because it is smaller in size than a résumé (3” x 5” or 5” x 8” notecard), it is a handy tool that the job seeker can provide on-the-spot to employers, recruiters, and networking contacts. In fact, the job seeker can carry this card on their person wherever they go. The object is to get an employer’s attention and be given an interview.

The qualification card lists the following information about the job seeker:

  1. Name and telephone number
  2. Position desired
  3. Skills, experience, and education
  4. Special conditions (if necessary)
  5. Self-management, or life skills
