Work Traits and Skills Worksheet

This worksheet will help you consider all theualities you bring to the workforce. It consists of two areas of interest: your personal work traits and your work skills.

In this section check theualities that apply. Feel free to change or expand on the definition if needed. Add any characteristics that describe you at the end of this list.

Reliable/Dependable

Follows through on tasks and assignments, shows up on time for appointments, has tasks and projects completed on time.

Friendly and Cooperative

Cheerful, gets along well with others, willing to pitch in and help, likes people.

Sense of Humor

Able to laugh at him/herself, can see the humor in trying situations or people, capable of diffusing difficult situations with humor.

Flexible

Able to cope with changes in appointments and assignments, can set aside one task and pick up another as needed, willing and able to cope with multiple-tasks.

Energetic

Brings a positive level of personal energy and enthusiasm to tasks/assignments, when one task is finished actively looks for something else to do.

Honest

Can be trusted with information and resources.

Focused

Able to bring all of his/her energies to bear on a problem/task.

Analytical

Capable of looking at a range of information/ideas and evaluating the information on different levels, able to spot patterns in data and synthesize information.

Stable

Calm, works well under stress, not subject to emotional flare-ups.

Creative

Develops new ways of doing things, uses old products in new ways, likes to explore new ideas and approaches.

Independent

Able to work with a minimum of supervision, prefers a lot of autonomy in work and decision-making.

Detail-Oriented

Cares about detail, a careful and meticulous worker, ensures that all pieces of a task are completed.

Organized

Maintains orderly files, plans ahead, can schedule and prioritize activities/tasks, can efficiently track information and activities.

People Person

Genuinely likes people, enjoys talking to them, working with them, and learning more about their lives.

Problem-Solver

Will figure out how to get things done, willing to try a number of different solutions till he/she finds the one that works—doesn’t give up easily.
