Breaking Barriers Together
The Washington Council of the Blind is thrilled to invite youth and their families from across Washington to join us for our 2025 Annual Convention where we will be Breaking Barriers Together! Celebrate a weekend full of connection, learning, and fun! This year’s convention is packed with exciting activities for youth and families.
Youth & Family Highlights
- Guide Dog Users – Meet guide dog teams and learn all about working with these amazing partners.
- Tech Talk – Discover the latest in accessible technology.
- Essential Oils First Aid Kit – Hands-on workshop (cost $20, limit 20 participants).
- Self-Defense Class – Build confidence and skills (limit 30: 16 youth, 14 adults).
- Crime Mystery Game – Step into the action and solve the case!
- Showcase of Talent – Applaud your friends and share your own unique skills.
- WCB Next Gen & WCB Diabetics – Connect with peers and explore support networks.
And that’s not all! Throughout the weekend you’ll also enjoy inspiring presentations with Happiness Coaches, a cooking session with a Blind Chef, and a buzzing Exhibit Hall open Thursday and Friday—featuring gadgets, goodies, and vendors like Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The convention wraps up with a Saturday evening banquet, where we’ll celebrate our community and the wonderful memories we’ve made.

Costs
DSB Pre-ETS will sponsor eight students and an accompanying adult. Students must be VR customers and Pre-ETS eligible. First come first served. Register soon to save your spot. Priority will be given to first time attendees of WCB convention.
Families not sponsored by DSB may still register for the Convention at the WCB website. Those families will be responsible for all related costs.
